Getting started

What is BrioCut?

BrioCut is an AI video editor that turns your own footage into a music-synced film. Add videos, review the moments you want to keep, choose a feeling, and choose or create a soundtrack. You can then select a section of the music and refine the resulting edit.

How do I turn my videos into a film?

Start with your videos and a film length. BrioCut suggests moments from your clips; keep, skip, or trim them. Describe the feeling, choose AI music, a library track, or your own audio, then confirm the music section. BrioCut builds a cut you can review and adjust before exporting.

Can I make vertical, wide, and square videos?

Yes. Choose 9:16 for vertical videos, 16:9 for wide films, or 1:1 for square posts. Set the film length before creating your soundtrack, then check the crop and framing of your chosen moments in the edit.

Music & editing

How does BrioCut sync video to music?

BrioCut analyses the beats, sections, and energy of the selected music window and uses them to plan the cut. Shorter moments can support energetic passages; longer shots give quieter passages room to breathe. You choose the footage and can refine the result.

Can I create a song with my own lyrics?

Yes. Choose With lyrics in the AI music flow to open the Lyrics step. Write your own words or ask BrioCut to draft lyrics from your selected moments and feeling. The requested film length guides the music and lyrics; you choose the final music section before the edit is built.

Can I use my own music instead of AI music?

Yes. Choose your own audio or a track from the music library. You can preview the track and choose the section your film will use. Only use footage and music you have the appropriate rights to publish.

Will going back to an earlier step create new music?

No. Revisiting Sound, Lyrics, or Score keeps your existing take. Continue moves through the flow. Creating another version is a separate Regenerate music or New takes action, with its credit cost shown before you start.

Can I change a moment I kept or skipped?

Yes. Selected and skipped moments remain available for review. You can change your choices and trim moments before building your film, then refine shots in the editor. Your selection gives the edit its story.

Credits

How many free credits do I get?

The free plan includes 378 credits per weekly period, granted together at the start of that period. That is a budget for seven standard films of up to 60 seconds, each with five analysed source clips, a score, and an optional vocal version. Extra clips, longer films, or new music versions can use more credits.

Do I have to make one video every day?

No. Your weekly allowance is available together, so you can use it when inspiration strikes. There is no one-video-per-day gate. Weekly credits reset when the next weekly period begins; purchased credit packs do not expire.

What uses credits?

Credits cover new clip analysis, music generation, vocal versions, and the first film build. The cost depends on your choices and film length. Editing and rebuilding the same project are included in its build charge. You can check your balance and available packs from the credit button in the app.

Your footage

Are my original videos uploaded?

In the iPhone workflow, original source videos and final rendering stay on the device. Selected preview frames, descriptions, and analysis data are sent to cloud AI services to help choose moments and plan the film. Music and lyrics generation also use online services. The web editor has a separate video-upload workflow.

Does AI editing work offline?

An internet connection is needed for AI moment analysis, music and lyrics generation, and project services. Keeping original videos on your iPhone does not mean that every part of the creative process runs offline.
